Man-made slalom course
On an island between the old and new Vltava River bed in České Vrbné, there is a boating paradise. A slalom course was built here thirty years ago, but before the Olympic Games in London 2012 it underwent extensive reconstruction.
The slalom course does not only serve competitors. Anyone who wants to experience white water kayaking, rafting or paddle boarding now has a unique opportunity. Experienced boaters use their own boats, while the less experienced can rent one and enjoy the slalom course with an instructor. There also is a kayak and rafting school. The Course has several sections of various levels of difficulty; therefore it is an ideal place to learn to paddle, from beginners to experienced competitors.
During the season there is a wide variety of competitions including the Czech Republic Rafting Championships, Water Slalom and Downhill Czech Cup and the Wave International Water Sports Festival. So even a wild water fan can meet their idols here.

Part of the České Budějovice Boating Centre is also a campsite and a hostel. Thanks to its ideal location next to a bike trail between Hluboká and České Budějovice, it is a great starting point for your cycling and in-line trips during your holiday.
